MECHANICAL FITTERS – 14 POSITIONS
JOB PURPOSE / DESCRIPTION
Conduct hands on Maintenance and repairs on Generators, Turbines, transformers and Ancillary plants to ensure target availability is achieved.
QUALIFICATIONS
• Grade 12 School Certificate • Craft Certificate in Mechanical Fitting or equivalent • Valid membership with the Engineering Institution of Zambia (EIZ)
EXPERIENCE AND REQUIREMENT
• Minimum of 2 years relevant experience in mechanical maintenance. Key Attributes • Strong knowledge in rotating equipment, rigging, and alignment • Ability to read engineering drawings • Skilled in troubleshooting and root cause analysis • Team-oriented with good communication skills
JOB ACCOUNTABILITIES
• Disassembly, inspection, and reassembly of machine components, subassemblies, and assemblies associated to generators, turbines, transformers, and ancillary plants according to technical instructions and industry best practices. • Reading and interpreting technical drawings and blueprints in resolving challenges. • Participate in trouble shooting and root cause analysis on any form of failure or quality issues. • Work on own and as part of the team to carry out predictive, corrective, and routine maintenance as assigned to achieve KPI’s for the section. • Give timely and accurate job feedback to supervisors on tasks performed. • Perform maintenance and cleaning duties to keep equipment and work areas clean while observing safety regulations on the job. • Make recommendations on spare parts and materials needed for the job. • Responsible for the safe keeping of tools and equipment on the job assigned in the section. • Perform maintenance and cleaning duties to keep equipment and work areas clean and safe. • Participate in rigging operations while performing maintenance duties. • Identify and address malfunctions on equipment and systems, recommend corrective action, and on approval make repairs or modifications. • Assist in the development of maintenance procedures and be responsible for the execution of the same. • Identify and address malfunctions on equipment and systems, recommend corrective action, and on approval make repairs or modifications. • Promote peace and harmony at the plant • Maintain an organized and safe work environment compliant with applicable ZESCO safety rules, technical instructions and SHEQ approved procedures. • Perform any other lawful duties assigned by the supervisor.
